Vuskovic has signed a five-year deal with Brighton and is essentially a replacement for Jan Paul van Hecke after his £52m move to Spurs last month.
Vuskovic played once at the World Cup, starting in the 4-2 loss by England, but is highly regarded after an impressive loan spell at Hamburg last season, making 30 appearances for the German club and scoring six goals in the Bundesliga.
“Last season he demonstrated he can play at a very high level and we want to help him build on that within our environment,” said Brighton’s head coach, Fabian Hürzeler. “There’s been a lot of external noise about Luka joining us, but he is still a young guy who will need time to adjust to the demands of playing for Brighton and the Premier League. We are confident that he will take this in his stride though.”
Vuskovic’s game time at Tottenham appeared blocked not only by the arrival of Van Hecke but also that of Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth. He had joined the club from Hajduk Split last year.
